soon, real soon...
Exams are coming up too soon. It feels too close for comfort, I think I'll start studying this Saturday when I'm feeling better rested.
And I'm still kinda stuck on Bic Runga's songs... Its not my fault that sometimes I feel that I can relate to the lyrics...
when love calls, how sudden the fall;
but falling is the easiest part...
I kinda missed out on my 121 lecture today. I felt too hungry, and I went with Matt (or Mat? I forget how these nicks go) to Subway for a quick breakfast... Mmm, that roast lamb sub is quite good. But now that's two Mechanics lectures I've missed already... Ah well, I'll just have to put in extra effort then. Sigh. I don't think I would have concentrated with those hunger pangs anyway...
I had a little bit of a chat with Matt too whilst waiting for 211/Maths to start. It appears that he has some stuff in common with me, as is expected, but otherwise we're very much different. We're both Asian, (wow, big obvious observation), and to some degree, we enjoy cooking/food preparation, and we like cheeses, and perhaps some other foods I can't remember... oh! That green curries. And the similarities end about there. He's athletic, I'm very much less so, he dislikes coffee, I love it. I would spend lots of money on clothes, or technology, he would spend it on getting a new bike. I can't imagine how a good bike would cost more than 5 grand.... ><>
Hmm, yeah I'm actually kinda bored right now, which is why I'm randomly cataloguing this. Oh, did I neglect to mention I already knew him, sorta, from last year? He was in my MAX course then (accelerated maths paper taken in college/uni). So yeah, then I met one of his friends, Ash (I think that's his name, I really can't remember), who I realized did MAX with us too... Strangely enough, he's one of those whites who seems to have a lot of Asian friends. Like almost as if he belongs in an Asian posse. Except that the Asian group in question is hardly Asian in personality... Uhm, its kinda hard to explain.
I can't believe I just devoted two paragraphs to this. I'm sorry to any readers who are rolling their eyes in frustration at this rather mundane post. I probably should actually go to sleep. Ciao~

if i had you...
Sigh, I shouldn't be getting so down. Exams are coming up, I can't afford to falter now. But you know, when you're not sure if there's ever a possibility, and especially when it seems that window is closing so rapidly on you, one can help but pause and try to enjoy the light it brings, even with bittersweet feelings.
That's how I'm feeling right now... Ah, maybe its just another lesson for me to have, perhaps it should stay as it was, just a brief encounter. One to illuminate my path, one to provide the brief spark to my life. And who knows, other such moments may come again.
'cause in the warm, warm night,
does nothing stir your cold, cold heart?
there's not a thing that I can do to belong...
Its not over yet, though, so at least I should just soak in the sunshine. Then it will all end, with the heart of winter. Mayhap another such brief spark shall keep me warm through the winter.
Why is it then that I act as if the whole matter was past? Perhaps I just wish to dismiss it, so I give up hope now rather than later. After all, things are easier to cut away when nipped at the bud. Even if there's a chance it may flourish and bloom. The slightest, most remote chance. But is it really worth it setting yourself up for the disappointment? I really don't know, I really don't...

lol
Here goes:
Mongo is a little Zimbabwean orphan who walks 5 miles to school each day.
With your kind donation of just $2 a month, we can buy a whip and make the lazy cunt run.
LOL. Did anyone find that funny? Or am I just a little sadistic?
><
And Richard started teasing me again =( He introduced me to one of his mates (I think he's called Josh, my bad memory's muddling me) as Gay-briel... And then they double-teamed me >< That dude made some mention about a girl being called "Gay", and then added: "Not that it will make much of a difference for you" =O Evil evil people. Goddamn Richard...
Haha, apparently I was flirting with Oliver, or making gay passes at him without intending to... I don't know how Olie thought that, but he did. And I guess it has some credence, but its only very very slight... And you'd have to be stretching it a little to actually make it a pass. Maybe Oliver has a huge ego. Ah well, why do I have to have egoistic people for friends... >< Like attracts like I guess, but now I have no room for my own ego =(
I lost my house keys too, so I just wasted another $20ish making another duplicate copy, since it hasn't made its way back to the Engineering Lost & Found yet =( How sad, money wasted that could have been put to better use, like food or coffee =\
Alright, ciao for now.

ARGH!
But on another note, its over. And I did get 34/36 for my ENGGEN 140 test (BioChem) =D I can't believe they took one mark of me for my explanation of a chemical that inhibits ATP synthesis through the electron transport chain being used as a diet pill. I mean seriously, there's not much more to say beyond it causing people to burn more food/fat/whatever 'cause they don't get enough energy right? Stingy markers.
Heh, Richard has a tendency to say the most uhm, possibly disturbing things and yet remain completely oblivious as to the possible implications. Or maybe my mind's too polluted. We went to have butter chicken before MM2 (maths) began, and he got a slightly bigger portion than I did. He attributed it to me being already huge (ha ha ha...) and him being small. Well, the small bit was waaay before, but him saying I was huge went like this: "But Gabriel, you're sooo huge!"
Did anyone get that? Or was it just my dirty mind? I didn't say anything back to him then, but I did kinda chuckle, a little. In a non-suggestively non-dirty sense, that is, and he remained yet completely oblivious to it -_-" Maybe I should have said: "Damn right, I'm huge" (with raised eyebrows =P)
You know, the prefects at my old school have been bugging me to go to the school ball... I don't even remember when it is anymore... Probably around my birthday... I don't really feel like going though. Why? Several reasons:
1) They're like school people. And we have little in common to talk about these days. (Edit: Whoa, I just noticed that the previous sentence sounds so blond...)
2) They probably wouldn't care too much anyway.
3) I don't have anything to wear to the ball. Clubbing clothes don't count...
4) I'll be going by myself... Since no person in AU wants to go to a school ball. I mean, engineers would rather go to the engineering ball.
So, I'm just making excuses. But I'm kinda running low on excuses, so the next time someone asks me why I'm not going, I'll just say: "'Cause I want to bring a guy along?" I think that'd work well. Then Jase chipped in when I was randomly mentioning that and he suggested I say: "I can't find a guy from school to go with" Well, that ought to make them stop asking, I hope. And there really are no girls that I know from school that I'd go with anyway. The one predictable
thing about high school, is they're so phobic, in a sense. Its almost funny in a way. That excuse will always allow you to get away with going to any high school functions requiring a partner.
Yes, I say what I please as long as it gives me the desired effect. So what do I care about what people think? I am what I am, and I know what I am. (Dumb phrasing, gosh, I almost sound like 50cent *cringe* *shudder*)
Alright, I should get some study done, or at least my assignments done. Have to finish my truss design + group report by Wednesday, so I aim to get most of it done by the weekend. Then maybe I can play Two Worlds for a good bit. Till later, ciao~
P/S: I wanna watch Pirates of the Caribbean 3!!! And Zodiac too! Sigh, I've got to get around to asking someone to watch it with me, maybe I could tag along with Richard for Pirates 3, and I guess I'll organise an outing with school people for Zodiac...

Bomb Threat
You know, I don't think anyone believed him, but since he was so insistent, we all just left anyway... Within the space of 10 minutes, police and the firefighters were there. Then the best part came, they closed engineering for the day! NO LECTURES! YES!
Then the down for me came really quickly. I forgot to get my gym gear out of my locker. Sigh, its going to be sitting there till tomorrow. >_< Oh, apparently engineering is only closed till about 4pm, but by then most of us have no lectures anyway, so it amounts to the same thing. And I can't be bothered hanging around till 4pm to get my gym stuff. Went off with Richard and took the Link (the bus that just goes in a loop), since he was going home. I was originally planning to go to Newmarket to do some shopping, but I realised I took the wrong Link, and getting to Newmarket would take too long, so I got off at the university library (funny eh? I caught it from the city and made one huge loop back to college). Then I caught the bus home, ah well.
I guess having that little break, sudden as it is, is always good for me. Everyone, including... dun dun dun, Richard, thought it was a nice change. Coming from him, thats a shock. You'd think that all he ever did was study, heh.
A'ight, I think I'll take a nap. Then study for the Dynamics test that's coming up this Tuesday... Ciao~
P/S: Apparently the Crazed Woman's a genius. According to this guy who works at gym, she has a Master's in Architecture, but she has a head injury or some sort. So she finds some redemption in my judgment, although I still stand by my opinion that she IS strange.

The Child
"W-Where are you?" the boy asked, teeth chattering as the wind howled around him.
"If you come, you will find me..."
In the darkness, a child shivered.
One with shadow, one with rain,
Eyes untrained to blinding fog.
"I'm coming to you, but I cannot find you."
"Just a little longer, just a little longer."
"A-Alright, wait for me. I don't want to be alone."
Relentless, unending, pure.
In wind was chaos, calling,
The child hesitated not.
"H-Help me. I can't go any further."
The cacophony of the wind was his sole companion.
"Why didn't you come? I tried to find you..."
Lost, desolate, forgotten.
Mocking, derisive, laughing.
The child moved never again.
justin's going back to christchurch...
You know, Richard honestly wouldn't stop calling me Gay-briel. -_-" I've been advised to use some sort of shock-treatment on him by uhm, either making a gay pass on him, or taking a leaf out of one of his classmate's book, dry-humping him from behind... Personally though, I think the latter is a little too out of my style, and I shudder to even try to attempt it...
Ah well, its all good, I'll get him for it sometime later. Also, shock, horror! I sat with Richard in the middle seatings! Well, its just something, considering Richard has a penchant for sitting in the front, and me for sitting at the back. I guess a compromise is good, and I did manage to check my assignment answers with his. (Since he's such the genius -_-)
Met Carol for the first time in a few weeks today. She commented on how everyone at Engineering seemed so busy, which is kind of true I guess, considering how hectic the last few weeks have been... I spent the better portion of my one-hour break catching up with her and giving her some pointers on her course (she's doing Health Science aka PreMed). I kinda feel sorry for Jase while me and Carol were conversing though, since he pretty much got neglected, but ah well... His fault for following me everywhere in between classes. I guess he doesn't really hang around with anyone else anyway...
Went for lunch with Eddie and his significant other Faith at Oporto's as well... I should really get myself to stop spending money, and Faith was really really helpful. She said: "As if any of us would stop spending". >_> Come on, a little faith would help here. No pun intended.
Alright, I need to just finish one more truss and complete the analysis for both of them. After my little nap, or maybe dinner first, then a short nap. I'm extremely sleepy right now... Ciao~
That strange woman...
There is this woman in Engineering whom, if you pointed out to anyone who studies here, everyone would say was a little weird. Firstly, let me tell you about what she does in the computer labs. Our computer labs, although maybe a little small at times, has sufficiently comfortable chairs that can be easily moved. Instead of taking advantage of this to sit on it however, she apparently eschews the blessing that is the chair, choosing to instead kneel, YES, kneel, on the floor and do her work. This wouldn't be so strange if she didn't constantly make strange noises as well as shift forwards and backwards in an odd manner. She also makes an odd habit of asking people for the time, when firstly, the computers themselves display the time, and the labs also have clocks, and she has a watch strapped to HER WRIST.
Let me tell you something about Engineering students. Even from Day 1, it is pounded into our heads that we are the cream of the crop, the best that New Zealand has to offer (which, as obnoxious as it sounds, I would admit is partially true, considering that they would take in people with the best results, but then again, NZ's exams are easy...) Also know that as the best, the simple operation of a computer should be common sense, especially if you have managed to type in it, log in, download and print, and even burn a CD. Especially burn a CD, since that's relevant here. If you have managed to actually burn a CD prior to trying to load it into the PC's in the lab, how is it that you cannot find the CD drive? HOW?!? She obviously could not find it, and well... There's only so many places this elusive drive can be. Perhaps behind the monitor on that huge black box with a really obvious button that basically screams "Press ME and insert YOUR CD!"? Or how bout on the huge black box down at your feet? Okay, I understand that not all PC's are the same, but the concept behind each one is simple enough, and even grandmothers can locate this drive that she spent minutes searching for, before finally embarrassing herself by asking one of the staff, who gave her an odd look before pointing it out. Its hardly rocket science to me... I think the faculty should perhaps reconsider their entry scheme.
Not only that, but I heard from one of my friends (who I happened to bump into since she and I had no lectures). Well, she told me that our subject in discussion also is apparently a little too slack on personal hygiene, and tolerance for the senses of others at that. While my friend was at the labs, cheerfully completing her assignments and such, Crazed Woman walks into the lab and sits right next to her. That was fine with her, and she continues. Then, Crazed Woman takes off her boots. Now, all I can say is, I don't want to imagine the smell emanating from her feet. Needless to say, she wasn't wearing socks, and my poor friend could not take the smell considering it pretty much stunk up the row she was in.
My friend also mentioned something else. Apparently, Crazed Woman stuffs tissue down her shirt. Okay, I understand if woman feel flat chested, and so does my friend, but she adds that instead of being a little bit sneakier about it, she makes her shirt stuffing a little too obvious. As in, you can clearly see the lumps of misshapen tissue. And not only that, but you can also see tissue poking from the neckline, and I've been told that once, her stuffing fell out of her shirt while she was walking. Thankfully, she didn't notice, or what she'll have done next will probably have induced post-traumatic stress to any witnesses in the vicinity.
And oh! I neglect to mention her weird liking for occupying multiple seats. In the engineering cafe, which is a rather long and wide area, people are often found there socializing or otherwise doing work. She, however, has this strange habit. She will firstly, drag a table and a chair to the edge of the cafe to sit in the sunshine. Well, this isn't so strange yet, but... After somehow managing to fill up the whole table with her things, she will order a filtered coffee or something, and walk over to another table at the OTHER END of the place with her coffee and more things, and start having coffee there. So, she has just managed to occupy two tables on opposite ends of the area. Then, she begins to shuffle back and forth, shuttling her things back and forth from one table to the next, sometimes dragging additional chairs to her table in the process... Right...

I dunno, its odd. Then again..... I've also had a few people I know joking about me being gay >_> Heh, I don't know whether to be flattered or insulted at times with these sort of people. Sigh... I need a good romance-ish story (in a non-sappy way, maybe sad) to read. Maybe it'll help to occupy some time for me... And take my mind of thinking of things... Especially since I don't really want to think of some right now...
Soooo.... I've still got a BioChem project to do, and I'm blogging away like there's no tomorrow. So much for productivity... I've gotten quite a bit lazier since I came here...
Ah well, screw BioChem for tonight, I'll just chill and chat.

pensive
I installed Vista Professional awhile ago... After all, its free for me, and completely legit too, so I guess I don't mind...
Does anyone know much at all about trusses? I'm doing a project where I construct a truss of hot-dog sticks, and I would love some input/advice on how I should strengthen my truss...
Been listening to this song by Michelle Branch recently...
Well, that's all from me now... Cinnamon Dolce Latte from Starbucks is delicious by the way...

Just had to get it out of my system, I'm quite exhilarated, but I still have a BioChem project and another Maths assignment. Gah. At least Design's done for the moment....
It seems I'm one of the only few people who ain't going back to Kuching this year, again. Tis sad, tis so sad... Ah well, I guess I'm losing touch with most of them now anyway. Maybe I should have made an effort to stay in touch more, or then again, what good might it have done?
Meh, no point worrying about things like these. My brain must be warping from drinking again. Heh, that's amusing, drinking while writing out my design project. I hope nothings wrong with it... But I don't honestly think I was that addled anyway... So it should be all good...
Look at me, just rambling on and on. I should go get some sleep for today. I'm off. Peace.
P/S: I don't really understand what it is with Richard and him teasing me about being gay... Ah well, maybe its my name after all. Gay-briel... -_-" He amuses me enough as it is, so I guess I won't hold a silly grudge against him anyway...
I strained a muscle at gym yesterday. It fucking hurts every time I laugh, cough, or stretch. Its annoying, I think I'll go to physio tomorrow and get it checked up. No proper sleep for 3 days in a row, and I'm glad for the holiday on Thursday that is Engineering Graduation. Apparently, engineering lecturers in Auckland Uni have like the highest graduation attendance among the rest of the faculties. Its a good thing, regardless, I get to sleep in or shop or study at my own pace. Maybe more sleep than not, but whatever.
Alright, back to my design project report. Ciao~
If I just breathe, let it fill the space between
I'll know everything is alright...

Tom:I love a good saute
Me:who doesnt? they're wonderful things
Tom:They are indeed
Tom:You are my hero gabe
Tom:MY FREAKIN HERO!!
Me:aww
Me:yay!
Me:haha, clever
Tom:sankku
Me: :O omg! you're japanese! or korean! gah.... lemme amend that...
:O omg! you're asian!
Tom:I shall do my best
Me:awesome dude. love ya lots
Tom:And I you gabe
Me:awww, thats sweet
Man, of all the random things to be said in an MSN conversation, I'd say most of my conversations with Tom (or Thomas, whatever) tend to be like this. But its good fun, at least I still keep in touch with people now and then from school and all. Its feels like forever since I left high school now... And Tom's always funny with his Asian accent impersonations. =D
One less project...
I saw Oliver again, I didn't actually think I would, he'd been missing from the past few Mechanics lectures. And he has a haircut, which seems to be some sort of trend. Everyone has had haircuts of late, myself included. Ah well, he just looks really odd... Different I guess. I'll get used to it after a while methinks.
Richard told me he got his design project back already during the tutorial, but I have yet to get mine, since yesterday was a public holiday. I don't think I really want to know what I got... considering it was a really last minute effort on my part. Richard got 19.5/20 but then again, he did spend quite a lot of time on it... So I guess I can say that his efforts paid off.
And oh, I got a little side-tracked on the way home and stopped by Barkers in the mall. Which led to my discovery of a 20% discount sale of everything in stock. And add in the factor that I'm a VIP customer with them, and poof... 30% discount in total!!! So, naturally, I decided to pick up a few things, just like 1 T-shirt, 1 polo shirt, and a military-ish dress shirt, and my bill was already $175 >_> sigh, and that was with all the discounts already calculated too. Ah well, I really needed a few more clothes, although I should have bought more jumpers and sweaters and such instead of T's... Or actually, maybe I should refrain from spending like that.
Hmm, I'm kinda sleepy... All the coffees I had throughout the day are finally starting to wear off, and its only 7.15pm... But I need my sleep too... Ciao for now~

college has begun anew...
Biochem was a suprisingly easy test, although I have a feeling I might have made many mistakes in it. For a total of 36 marks (converting to 10%) I think I got 5 marks unaccounted for (I'm just not sure about them)... Just finished Task 2 for my project, so I have one last, daunting task to complete... Go Gabe! That felt odd...
And then after that, a design project (did I mention our design project's quite dumb?). Who on earth would want to wear a DISPOSABLE CAMERA on their biking helmet?!?!?! I mean, honestly. What a dumb proposal. But ah well, I guess it hones our creativity in some weird fashion (except that I have none, along with no sense of humour. You should know, Jase)...
I could rant on and on about the design project, but its just plain annoying. For some odd reason, I keep listening to Bic Runga these few days. I guess it relaxes me, and just reminds me of the holidays... Sigh...

so much for studying...
Hanging out with old schoolmates... It was quite fun... We ended up sitting in Albert Park on the grass under the sun for almost 2 hours... Just chatting away, and lying there... Come to think of it, I wish moments like that would come more often... I always appreciate just being able to lie in the sun...
And then we just did like 30 minutes of vague study, and then we went to play pool for an hour. I still suck at it anyway, I have this bad habit of continuously flicking the cue ball. I really should get around to correcting that habit, but ah well, old habits (even bad ones) die hard. Otherwise, I think my aim is alright. If only I could just magic away that flicking habit I've got...
Allan's sick already... How sad, he had a sore throat this afternoon when I met up with him. Apparently he'd been laughing too hard. Ah well, fun times for him I guess. I don't laugh a lot so I can't say too much. Hopefully he'll get better before the test though. Wouldn't be a good thing if he's still sick during it, would it now? Well... I really should be getting on with my project
purpose
Sigh, it seems my mellow mood is far from over... I'm awake at 9pm after a little nice night of alcoholic drinks, and still nicely awake writing this... Although perhaps I won't go to gym today, which isn't a good thing at all, because I'll be missing my workout for the rest of the week, but ah well... I think I hurt myself the last time. Excuses, excuses, I know.
Well, I'm off in a little while to go to the city to meet Allan for lunch and study. Perhaps I should get a haircut and a pair of leather gloves while I'm there... My hair is getting long already, or rather, my fringe is getting a little annoying. And my hands are, well, chilled on some days here... Gloves would complement my coat in that regard.
Sometimes I get this feeling on odd calm, but it makes me nervous in a way. Kind of like the calm in a storm, but why do I feel like that? I don't know, I'm a little confused myself. I don't know what to expect, I guess I'm used to expected nothing more than trouble and trials throughout my life. I may be justified thinking that however, but we shall see how it comes shan't we?
You know, after all these years, I still feel purposeless in life to quite a large degree. I guess I will come to understand my role and significance in this life later, or maybe I'll just live it not ever realising what it is. A sad possibility, but a very possible one at that. Sigh, I need more friends to be with all the time. A selfish thing to wish so, but friends keep me away from thinking like this. I guess I really do think too much.
I should get some breakfast to eat. Ciao.

Stranded in June, whistling the same old tune;
But I do believe I might be having fun I'm in a supremely mellow mood today. Ah well, you can blame it on the music I've been listening to lately... Heh, still too relaxed despite having a test next Monday and two projects due on Wednesday and Thursday again. I've made some progress in the projects, but not that much that I'm supposed to be comfortable enough. Something good will come our way;
And maybe this good thing's gonna happen today
Maybe I should stop listening to this for the meantime, but I'm worried if I stop, I might lose the sense of lull and peace I seem to be having. And I'm not sure how many people do know, but I rarely have moments, what more to say, extended moments of peace...
I know romance is not in fashion;
And my heart is on the line;
If you would be so kind to help me kill some time.
Something good just might come crashing;
From the stars that light the sky;
If you would be so kind to help me kill some time.

Packed...
Then I came home, had dinner, and went out again. Joy! I keep going out it seems. Went out with my sis, Denise, and Justin to like Sylvia Park, which was pretty impressive compared to all the other crappy malls in Auckland. And the food choices there were awesome! Wagamama... mmm... delicious... Of course, I wished I had more time to actually go around and look for some stuff I wanted (which were like scarves, gloves, and sweaters), but seeing as Denise was only going to be here till Tuesday (I think, before she goes back to Melbourne), I thought I'd just come back later...
Coffee was good as well, although costly, from the place called The Coffee Club. Hardly original in name, but hey, I'm not complaining... The main problems would be the price on everything. Melting Moments for $3.30 each when I can get the exact same thing from another cafe at $1.50 each... And this is with knowing that cafes already rip you off...
Well, since I had already eaten (and obviously, so had my sis), whereas Justin and Denise hadn't, we just dropped by Burger Fuel, which has rather delicious burgers (and chips) by the way. Apparently it was Justin's first time being in Burger Fuel (I guess they didn't have it down in Christchurch), and well, he liked it, so all good. I wish malls here would close later. Sylvia Park started closing at 9... Sad =( so we went to MoMoTea for bubble tea (yay for Asian habits!) and barbeque. Their lamb is godly... I'm still drooling thinking of it right now... Somehow we managed to stay there till a little past midnight, so I guess it was pretty good fun.
Back now anyway, and I can tell this post is rather boring, but it was an interlude between doing assignments and not doing assignments for me... Which reminds me, I should save up more money so I can buy myself decent shoes for semi-dress streetwear. Sigh, I'm so bad at saving money...
Alright, enough for now. Hmm, Justin left his beanie in the car again... Did I mention that Justin looks completely TAIWANESE? Especially with his new haircut and glasses, and uhh... beanie? Hehe, I should take a picture and post it up... Anyway, I'm off, ciao...

Holidays... not...
I guess I should get myself organised into doing stuff for the holidays, but I'm kinda lazy... We'll see, we'll see.... As well as save some money. Jeez gabe, you'd think you could eat less food. Ah well, and then of course to remember to factor in time to do work. I'm saying 25 hours or so should cover it, given that I actually do work then...
Speaking of which, I downloaded S.T.A.L.K.E.R. sometime back then when I was finishing my projects. Its not a bad game, but I guess they could do some fixing and such. Really good concept though. And there's this free-to-play online game (they earn revenue by in-game ads and a customer mall) called 9Dragons. Its not too bad actually... I mean I play it when I have some free time. Although sometimes I feel like I'm just grinding away, and that kinda galls me. They really should have better quests, but its free.
Went to Phil's Good Friday drinks thing. It was uhh, strange. I don't know what those people are, I guess I can't call them emo, cause they aren't, but they dress similar to them, but are not goth. And they act really... weird... Suffice to say, I didn't stay long there. I felt very much not-at-ease. I mean, 3-5 of them in any party's alright with me, but more than that and I get very uneasy. They are such strange people...
Anyway, gotta go. I'm off to a dinner. Ciao~

Buying: Pure Determination, Distilled.
The strange thing about college/university is that as it gets more interesting, it also gets a whole lot busier and progressively more hectic. But I guess one cannot exist without the other. Sigh...
Anyway, perhaps I should isolate myself from the computer in a futile effort to study. Too bad I can't do that for my project, cos the computer is required in it... >_> ciao~

Sore...
Met Justin for lunch today, haven't actually caught up with him for ages. It was quite fun, really, and I wasn't feeling sore then, so I didn't mind walking through Albert Park. And yes, he still smokes. I guess everyone has their vices. Like he said, "you have your caffeine, and I have my nicotine". Heh.
Projects are starting to come up. Got projects for all my subjects but Mechanics so far. Sigh...
Anyway, kind of tired. Ciao~

So Busy....
Also got like 2 assignments to complete this week, I think by next Wednesday. Sigh, it wouldn't be so bad if one of them wasn't a Engineering Design paper. They're making me do copious amounts of orthographic drawings, and I really hate it. So what if I don't have a great mental capability for 3D visualisation? Sue me, then.
As I've said before, Bio & Chem has got to be the easiest subject around. And oh, BE (Bachelor of Engineering) students have to do some weird English language competency test. Don't ask me why, but I think its so basic that anyone who fails should be deported, immediately. Ah well, I'm equally discriminative, so what?
Anyway, met this guy, Oliver, who's either in his 4th or 3rd year in college now (can't exactly recall). He was doing BioInfomatics before he decided that he might want to do a BE, and so he's in one BE 1st year class, Mechanics. And well, I reckon he's pretty cool. Old enough for me to feel like I can look up to him somewhat, but not too old that I would shun him =P
Right, gotta get back to my assignments. Ciao

BORIIIING
At least its kinda picking up, albeit a little too slow for my taste. Don't know what clubs I should join really, way too many to pick from. Don't exactly feel like joining purely Asian clubs, but then again, I'm at a loss, especially because I don't want to join the Drinking Club.
And I don't know what is it with all the first year classes wanting to give diagnostic tests. Like Bio/Chem. It was so simple that if I failed to ace it, I'd personally kick myself in the ass. Well, figuratively of course. But it was so unbelievably easy anyway. Like this:
Which of the following is not an organ?
a) Skin b) Lungs c)Large intestine d)Heart e)Muscle
Wow... that was hard wasn't it? You get the picture.
Anyway, gotta run. Lantern festival's being held all through this weekend. Maybe I'll go tomorrow night. Ciao.

Happy CNY!
I kinda detest CNY at times. Its so dull at the moment. And Lifehouse is getting stuck on my mind more than ever. Not a good sign I guess. Off to looking for computer parts online. Ciao

I'm falling even more in love with youI know... utterly random, but yet another Lifehouse song stuck in my head. Amazing...
Letting go of all I've held on to
I'm standing here until you make me move
I'm hanging by a moment here with you
I'm living for the only thing I know
I'm running and not quite sure where to go
And I don't know what I'm diving into
Just hanging by a moment here with you
Valentine's
Rocky Balboa... What can I say... It was alright I guess, but it isn't the kind of movie I'd recommend for you all. Well... I mean the fight scene at the end, although good, was a tad too short. And it only lasted for like what 30 mins, when the whole movie was 1hr 45 mins. Which means, the only good bit was the last 1/3 of the movie. And then again, they didn't show the whole 10 rounds. And he's just too old. I honestly fell asleep during the first hour, if you must know. Perhaps some people would feel differently about this, but that's what I think about this movie. Do not spend money on it. If you must watch, go get the pirated version, downloaded or otherwise. Or wait till someone gets it on DVD, rented or otherwise. Then borrow/watch it. Seriously.
Other than that, nothing much else to say. I was thinking of going over to Melbourne sometime during this year to visit people, both from Malaysia and New Zealand. Cool eh? We'll see about that though. I have to get it sorted. Maybe I'll go in winter, cos well... Summer I have to work. So winter sounds best. And I turn 18 about winter (southern hemisphere), so that'll be all sweet. Well, off I go then. Ciao.

Tasteless
Oh! We played Buzz too. Goddamn I was so buzzer-happy then. And uhh, there was Singstar. And I pwnt them all, for well. Any song that didn't require me to castrate myself like The Darkness. Arnold probably showed up earlier, and obviously we were still drinking. I forgot my togs, so I didn't get in the pool. I know my writing's really disjointed, but my head's a little like that at the moment.
Then at some point, Arnold wanted me to do 3 Galliano shots in a row. Or maybe I did two the last time in a row, and he wanted me to do one more. Whatever. Don't really remember. The only thing I can say is, I swear I couldn't taste those shots. I thought it was water they were giving me. They adamantly protested otherwise. And well, considering I did feel the hit quite a while after, I suppose they were right. I dunno, it was supposed to taste like anise, or maybe liquorice. Or something. But that's where it doesn't make sense. I did not taste anything, except water. Maybe my taste buds are fucked up. Ah well. Cos I did taste the vodka, I'm sure... Hmm, wait, did I do vodka after those shots?
Ah whatever, going to get a bit more sleep. Only had 4 hours of sleep total. Kept waking up intermittently. And my head's kinda spinning. Ciao

I re-watched Cruel Intentions recently, and well, it was still good the second time round. Although I think I preferred Match Point as a whole for being a re-watchable movie. I liked that quote above very much. Should be pretty obvious too. But honestly, how many people do you see doing that? Sadly, its only those people who are so manipulative that they probably never have friends. Or if they do, they might not even know who their friends are. I'm glad that I'm not like that, I hope.
Have you ever reached the point when you sometimes feel like ditching the majority of your friends where you are, and just moving on? I'm going through one of those phases. Getting annoyed isn't good for me I guess.
Speak to me, when all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through
Cheer up Gabe. Perhaps patience and determination will get you through.

Blind.
Here goes the huge space filler, the lyrics.:
I was young but I wasn't naive
I watched helpless as you turned around to leave
And still I have the pain I have to carry
A past so deep that even you could not bury if you tried
After all this time
I never thought we'd be here
Never thought we'd be here
When my love for you was blind
But I couldn't make you see it
Couldn't make you see it
That I loved you more than you'll ever know
A part of me died when I let you go
I would fall asleep
Only in hopes of dreaming
That everything would be like is was before
But nights like this it seems are slowly fleeting
They disappear as reality is crashing to the floor
After all this time
I never thought we'd be here
Never thought we'd be here
When my love for you was blind
But I couldn't make you see it
Couldn't make you see it
That I loved you more than you'll ever know
A part of me died when I let you go
After all this while
Would you ever wanna leave it
Maybe you could not believe it
That my love for you was blind
But I couldn't make you see it
Couldn't make you see it
That I loved you more than you will ever know
A part of me died when I let you go
And I loved you more than you'll ever know
A part of me died when I let you go

School's Starting...
I noticed that life has been grinding down to a very slow pace recently. I'm just waiting for John to finish his summer school exams so I can go computer shopping with him, since he'd be better at haggling than me (and well, he can speak Chinese, so he'll be definitely better at haggling with those Asian dealers). And as for life being slow, probably its because I have a lack of friends who are going to college with me. I guess I never did take the time to extensively socialise and involve myself with the 7th formers (who are starting college with me, as opposed to my 6th form friends). Or maybe they didn't take the time to socialise with me. Ah, who knows. I'm going to college, I can just meet them there. Heh.
Haven't done much today beyond submitting my applications. Did some shopping. Which ain't much, but I got myself a summer jacket and 3 hats. Well, I know its the end of summer, but it was a nice jacket. So sue me. And well, I still want more hats. Didn't manage to find the hat I was looking for. You know, something like a herringbone messenger/courier boy hat? I don't really know what it is called. But well, just wanted one. And maybe a weird fishing hat that would fit me. I think its becoming an obsession now. Oh well, what's life without a vice?
Yeah, I should get around to organising something for me to do this week or the next. The problem is school's started. And well, that just cuts down the number of people available whom I know well to two. Damn. Not much to do with two people as I know it. And it's Valentine's next Wednesday too. The price of roses will be expectedly marked up. I saw it at a florist for $18 a rose in a box. Obviously a red rose, but still. $18 is a tad pricey don't you think?
Hmm, maybe I'll get to re-watching Cruel Intentions or Donnie Darko tonight. Yes, I'm that bored. Well, I'm off. Ciao.

omg!!! justin!!!
He's like living in St Lukes now, which was my old neighbourhood, but I moved to New Windsor recently. I wanna go back to St Lukes!!! =(
Didn't recognise him at first, when he called out to me. I actually thought it was one of my other classmates, Chris, except with uhh... a deeper voice. Lol, I guess I can attribute it to not having seen Chris for ages as well. Hehe, good thing he didn't ask what his name was. That would have been a major embarrassment. Beyond that, there wasn't really much to my day I guess. Sigh, finally finished enrolling for my Semester 1 classes. Now on to Semester 2 -_-"
Anyway, going off. Ciao~

And back to organising
And well, another dinner on Fri... If you read the post I just made, well... Perhaps it is true.
Love ends in a fire
Fire through the streets
Set them alight
Don't say your goodbyes
Say after me
I'll go my own way baby.
Summery thoughts
Recently, I've got that Weezer song stuck in my head, "Island In The Sun"... Something about it just seems really, well, sad, in a sense. And well... if you took the time to look up the lyrics, you might see why, or then again, maybe its just me.
And it somehow brings to mind another quote, but in Latin this time:
Haec olim meminisse iuvabit - perhaps someday we will look back upon these things with joy.
Something about it is strangely reminiscent of sad events. And I'm well, a sucker for things like these. Perhaps its my strange liking for stories with bittersweet endings.
Another song comes to mind, strangely, by a NZ artist. I find some of her songs quite well, soothing and melancholic, something I always liked. Man, I'm weird... It's called "Say After Me" by Bic Runga. And well, I wouldnt know why, but another quote comes to mind with that song too...
Amor animi arbitrio sumitur, non ponitur - We choose to love, we do not choose to cease loving.
Perhaps if you looked at the lyrics to this song you'd understand why as well.
If a moment in time could be the sum of the wishes in life, would it be better that the moment was what it was, just a brief flash in the flow of time, like a pebble thrown into the fast flowing river? Yet, we humans are such strange things. We barely notice that things are changing when they perpetually are in motion, and one day we awaken to find that the things we knew have passed, and fallen away into the recesses of time. And in those times, we recall the little individual moments that we treasure. I suppose the sum of the parts are greater than the whole after all.
There are times when well, things feel so temporary to us. I don't know why, but I'm in one of those moods. When everything seems like it'll all fall away, and I'll be left with nothing. Its kinda shaking, and I guess its making me particularly clingy these days... Ah well... Back to more reflections for me.
Ciao.

English was funny =D I failed 3 of the externals, and passed one. I still did alright for my internals, E for all three of them, but I couldn't be bothered when I was doing my English exam, so lol... And I think I did pretty fine for my exams considering the little effort I put in. I don't want to look at my Scholarship results though, that'd be horrible =\
And I checked NDeva today (Auckland Uni's student thingy) and I got accepted into Engineering!!! Yay!!! Hehe, I'm happy. That's it for today, I'm really tired with like 4 hours of sleep.

DotA...
Me, Jase, Chris, Nithin, JiWin, JiWin's bro, Mihailo, Kent, and Tim. Well, truth to say, it wasn't so bad, but Nithin and Kent never played before, and Mihailo wasn't so far off in regards to that.
Truth to say, it's not like I'm that great either, but everyone else are noobs, so respectively I seem like a good player by a long shot. Which isn't true, but yeah. I had to teach Mihailo, Kent and Nithin. Especially Nithin. God that guy rages me... First off he moves incredibly slow, and his reactions are classically likened to those of a vegetable. Then he sits in base and poringly looks over every item when people are nicely INVADING the World Tree. Objectives, people, objectives. And I don't know how he couldn't pick up the proper use of the hero he was assigned (Raigor Stormhoof, the Earthshaker or rather) considering its as simple as point and click. It's hardly rocket science is it? Even his ultimate was simple. Please click when you have many enemies around you and watch them die. Then he starts asking me heaps of questions, when I'm pretty damn sure I've answered them all, and I get distracted and feed the enemy team. GG NITHIN!! At least Chris finally came along and helped me teach them somewhat better. Kent still managed to screw up by not learning how to use his items properly. It's a true wonder he managed to survive with boots of speed and 5 ring of regens, but I attribute that to the whole map being littered with noobs.
But all in all, putting the noob players aside (oops that's everyone I think) we made some progress. Mihailo caught on pretty well to learning item builds if not how to play. They all still need faster reflexes though. Tim seriously needs some level of common sense playing dota -_-" I mean, item builds are simple. Even I had a minor item build that got me through my noob stages pretty well... JiWin's brother is by all means pathetic both at playing and at item builds. I don't even know how he managed kills with a faulty tinker that relied on Laser and low mana. Oh well...
Meh, enough of rage. The first match was funny though... I randomed King Leoric, and so I ended up with Aegis/Rapier and paired with Reincarnation, it was plain cheap... 1k crits for you! Lol... Proof that me and Jase should never be paired in any dota match with those noobs...

Flight of The Conchords
On another note, read TuckerMax. It has got to be one of the best stuff there, I mean, this guy's like a prick and all, but he's still pretty damn funny. And "The Most Disturbing Conversation Ever", that thing is some quality shit man. Just read all his stories, it's so awesome.

My New Year's
I'm afraid I was a very annoying cunt during new year's eve/new year's morning... I got drunk rapidly and was talking smack and acting like the most irritating fuck ever... which I think I was, come to think of it... I probably should have built up my resistance before that, but I didn't think of it... And I don't know why I was so annoying too, heh =\ I guess it was a bad case of horrid luck... I got a mild hangover on New Year's as well, which made me dizzy until like 3pm, and I had to resort to sleeping to pass most of it, which meant I couldn't go fishing =( My New Year's resolution? Drink less, or build up resistance before doing that... And oh, be a less annoying cunt, which ain't hard, cos I remember trying really hard to be as annoying as I could... Don't ask me why I did that...
Can't really remember everything, so I'm just writing briefly... Unfortunately, we spent most of the time playing 5-way Hearts, and I don't know why... the weather wasn't as good as it should've been... I think we all got kinda raged at one another by the end of it... Which was kinda expected, considering that you spend like 4 or 5 days with just each other mainly 80% of the time...
I'm kinda tired, just got back 2 hours ago from a 3 hour trip... It's Dunc's birthday tomorrow!!! I wanna go to the Big Day Out too, but I'm kinda broke, and I don't have $130-ish to spare... A shame really, Muse, Tool, Blindspot, Lily Allen, The Killers and lots more are all going to be there... ='( BALLS! Ah well, I hope next year's one will be as good, so maybe I'll go then...
I'm off for today/tonight... Ciao~

Merry Christmas
I didn't get gifts for anyone, cos I don't do Christmas as a rule. I don't see any point in getting gifts for people especially if you don't feel like it, or you don't know what to get... It becomes an obligation at that point, and there's just no spirit in it, right? Well, can't think of any more to say, so ciao~ I'll write sometime...

5 days to Christmas
Got myself board-shorts for like the first time in I-dunno-how-many-years... It's been fuck ages since I've worn shorts... Last time I wore them (uniform doesn't count), was like 8 years or so? But I thought a good change might be in order, so yeah... Why the hell not... Hehe, then I had a cyber-cafe session with some friends to play dota at like 1... Was mostly shopping till then... Jason was silly enough to come early (well, I guess I did tell him to come early, =P) and so I had to stop shopping, find him... And then proceed to more shopping, lolz... Went all over town just looking at stuff, if only Jase would have stopped being so damned uncomfortable being in places like Keith Matheson and Ermenegildo Zegna -_-"
DotA wasn't too bad either, except that everyone didn't really know how to play... One of them was getting better, Jase already knew how to play... and the other two were noobs when it came to it... Well, maybe that was a little mean... They were learning well, but ultimately, they all got pwn't like noobs... Disappointing, especially from Jase, who was supposed to be as good as me... Ah well, he did get better when I gave him HEAPS of bloody pointers... But aside from that, in my self-reflection, I'm still quite a noob, so they must be uber-noobs ^^ lawl...
Might be awhile before my next post, going away for the new years, which would be a welcome change from the boredom... And maybe, hopefully, it won't rain so much so I can enjoy the summer, which ain't happening cos of the stupid rain... Well, ciao~

Back...
Then Ben busted out the weed, or was it before? I can't remember, but I did get a nice amount, we all did... Enough to get our dear eyes bloodshot... And I was drinking some Alize, I must say I really love it... It's delicious stuff... Didn't get enough sleep aye, so I should get summore sleep, cos I'm tired and all... Silly song by Kon-Tempt stuck in my head, "Lick That"... Heh, ciao~ Nightz.

It's OVERRRRRRRRRRR
I got a letter from school telling me that I won prizes of some sort for the prizegiving ceremony. So I went to check it out, and apparently I won 1st in English and 4th equal in Stats, and some other stuff... Well, the only thing I care is how much money do I get for it? Otherwise I can't be bothered going, even if I get to shake the Prime Minister's hand again. She seriously has too much time, considering she's been to our school like two or three times this year already...
I should begin my jobhunt in earnest, aye... I kinda want the cash, come to think of it. Smith & Caugheys had tis 25% reduction of all their clothes and merchandise, which wasn't too bad... It's like 1/4 off CK, Armani (all the Armani's), Ralph Lauren, etc etc etc... You get the picture... Too bad I didn't find anything I liked (or could afford, I'm not thaaat rich =P)
I should get some sleep... I was so tired last night that a few shots of whiskey was enough to black me out completely... Luckily I had the decency to put the bottle away and climb into bed... Alright, ciao~

Study leave -__-;;
Monday 20/11 Physics
Tuesday 21/11 Stats
Wednesday 22/11 English
Friday 24/11 Calculus Scholarship
Monday 27/11 Chemistry
Thursday 30/11 Biology
Friday 1/12 Physics Scholarship
Saturday 2/12 Stats Scholarship
Sigh... and I think I'll fail the scholarship exams... maybe i should just ditch them and settle for 5 exams instead... And studying is really really hard to do now that I'm leaving school... I really can't be bothered, even though i know i should, as my results affect my uni entry but still =\
Speaking of which, on tuesday, some yr 13 guy ran through the school stark naked... i didn't see him, but i hear he got caught, and was banned from going to the leaver's dinner... oh well... i haven't been doing much, save for some trips to the city, and sleep... it's unfortunate that the uni people i know are going off on their trips, since that means i have no one to go out with, as the majority of my classmates are off studying =\
Not much else to say... I should really study >.< Ciao~

School's ending...
I just found my school report after checking the mail today... Apparently we got them on Saturday, but oh well... didn't check, so didn't know... I'm pleased with my progress really, except that I think that my stats teacher wrote generic stuff for my report... "Gabriel's enthusiasm, diligence, and natural ability... a very conscientious and dedicated student who always works meticulously and steadily..." Well, I'd like to point out that I was hardly enthusiaistic about stats, nor close to diligent. Even saying I was dedicated is laughable, but I guess teachers can never be too sure, can they? And my Physics teacher contradicted that directly by saying I "lacked focus at times", lol... I suppose that's only too true, with the exception of "at times", I lacked focus most times! Hehe...
Prefect lists for next year's ... you guessed it, prefects... were out today. Frankly, I don't quite agree with some of the chosen prefects. Quite a few were really dumb (and obnoxious) pricks who I wouldn't have even considered, but then again, my prejudices get the better of me... They might have changed, who knows =\ It's a good thing I decided to leave next year, otherwise they'll be all sorts of strange prefects I'd have to contend with next year *shudder* ... Heh, I wonder if I should have tried for prefectship to see if I'd have made it... I wonder... Hmm... Ah well, too late now anyway...
School's ending tomorrow, bye Mt. Albert Grammar, I'll probably never see you again... Then again, I might, cos my friends will still be there =\ silly buggers who can't go to uni with me... Then again, it's probably better for them that way, otherwise they'll be 17 for the whole first year and miss out on all the alcoholic fun... =P
I forget to mention all the camwhoring that took place, as well as school shirt signing, but maybe I'll mention it later... Hmm, should I have gone for the leaver's dinner? Ah, bugger it, too late to buy tickets anyway, and b'sides, I don't have my dress pants/shoes for it =\ Bugger all... Ciao~
